Yoga in the Greenhouse

Join us for yoga in the greenhouse! There is no better way to boost your mood than by practicing yoga while embracing the warm + sunny greenhouse, surrounded by lush plants!

Blu Bird Studio will lead us through a fun, gentle flow class that is wonderful for all skill levels + those who like to have fun while being active! We will finish off the class with deep stretches and mindful breathing. IT'S ALWAYS SO FUN!

The $15 cost of this class includes yoga instruction, a refreshing drink, and a $5 shopping coupon from Mill Creek! Bring your own mat + dress in layers!

Children's Storytime @ Mill Creek - Adventure Stories with local author Ashlyn Solinsky

Join us for a fun Children's Storytime! Ashlyn Solinsky, from central Wisconsin, has self-published several children's books that we sell in the shop and she'll be joining us for this fun storytime, reading her books to us.

After our stories, Ashlyn will be available to sign books, and we'll do a craft together. This storytime is great for all ages + free treats will be provided (for the grownups, too).

Other activities during your visit: You kids are welcome to stop at our free coloring station or go on a scavenger hunt in the greenhouse! You're also welcome to shop our plants + goods! This is a great all-in-the-family event!

Soulful Starter Bakery Pop-up

When: Saturday, August 1

We're excited to welcome back Lauren of Soulful Starter Bakery. Lauren bakes all her original recipe sourdough goods from scratch (down to her vanilla extract, Italian seasoning, marshmallows, caramel sauce, and more), as properly-fermented (gut-healthy), sourdough items with organic and local ingredients.

She'll be bringing bread, hamburger buns, bagels, along with some sweets. Stay tuned for photos and menu options!!

It will be a perfect day to shop flowers AND local bakery items.

Flower Farm Day for Kids at Mill Creek

We love showing kids all about a different kind of farming - horticulture + floriculture! This Flower Farm Day is the perfect day for kids (and adults!) to learn about our sustainable and innovative practices at Mill Creek.

We're kicking it off with storytime at 9:00 am, reading books about flowers, farms, and tractors. Snacks + drinks will be provided (for kids and grown-ups).

Then after storytime, our commercial John Deere tractor and our gator will be available for climbing in + checking out. We'll have staff available to lead tours of our fall mum fields + the solar panels that power our growing operation. Every kid can plant a flower to take home!

After storytime, the event is come and go from 9:30-12pm. Our coloring station and a scavenger hunt will be available throughout the morning.

Able Coffee Co. will be at the greenhouse selling beverages from their coffee truck for some treats and Children's Wisconsin will be offering a craft + resources for families during the morning.

Come and spend one last summer hurrah at Mill Creek before school starts!

Foster + Adoptive Caregivers Self-Care Night

This event is an opportunity for people responsible for children and young adults in out-of-home care. If you are a parent, grandparent, guardian, social worker, or counselor who could use space to be refreshed and supported alongside others doing the same work, we invite you to join us for an evening of self-care.

The evening will include:
Planting activity with nurturing affirmations
Caregiver Connection Group Activity
Time to de-stress and socialize
Refreshing snacks + beverages
Giveaways

Olivia Batien, licensed clinical social worker with Children’s Wisconsin, will join us to facilitate the evening. Olivia creates a welcoming, approachable environment where her clients feel supported and empowered. She has experience working with children and families of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. She is LGBTQ+ affirming and is experienced in trauma-informed care for children and families, youth in out-of-home-care, anxiety and depression, emotional and behavioral challenges, and adoption and family transitions.

We’ll have a chance to get our hands in the soil and plant something to take home as a reminder to nurture ourselves. Watercolor paints, puzzles, and playing cards will be available to help you enjoy an evening without responsibilities.

Light, healthy refreshments and beverages will be provided as well as a few prizes to win from community businesses.

Grow Solar Central Wisconsin is an education and group purchasing program for residential and small commercial solar.

Offered by the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) in partnership with the cities of Stevens Point and Wausau, property owners throughout Marathon, Lincoln, Portage, Waupaca, Waushara, Wood Counties may participate in this program to help pool their buying power to secure significant discounts that make installing solar more affordable.

At this casual presentation, you'll hear more about the program, learn the basics of solar and its financial implications, and speak with the competitively-selected solar installer--Northwind Solar about whether solar might be right for your property.

Vila's Smashburgers will be here selling their Mexican Street Corn, butter-dipped corn, and BLTs with a sweet corn remoulade! Catch them from 10A-3P on Saturday, Aug 22 and 12P-3P on Sunday, Aug 23.

Our Mosaic mums (multicolored + mixed) will be available [they go quickly so get them while they last]! Don't forget to explore our wide selection of indoor plants, too!

Shop our cozy home goods that will encourage you to savor the season + enjoy all ways that make fall special. AND we haven’t forgotten about your kiddos - we will be rolling out our fall-themed scavenger hunt + coloring pages!
