Winter has a profound way of impacting our mental health. With the extra long night, cold temperatures, and natural isolation that comes with the snow, it is easy to feel down in the dumps. Come join us for an evening mindfulness practice that will help you gain the skills needed to combat the winter blues.

During this practice, we will utilize all of your senses in the beautiful greenhouse to help build up your brain’s defenses against depression and isolation. What makes this particular practice different than the previous mindfulness walks is that we will be doing this when it is dark outside, which is when depression hits us the hardest.

This mindfulness practice will be led by Carissa Weber, MA, LPC, CSAC, of The Joyful Mind, LLC + she will touch on how plants change our brain + have the potential to improve our mental health.

The cost of the guided exercise is $5/person – reservations required; space is limited. Refreshing drinks + a Mill Creek shopping coupon will be provided to each attendee.

If cost is an issue for you, please reach out to Mill Creek as scholarships are available.

Dinner Party in the Greenhouse

Dinner Party in the Greenhouse

Date: Saturday, March 2
Time: 5pm – 8pm
Location: Mill Creek, Marshfield, Wisconsin
Cost: $49 per person

Join us for a unique + magical evening at Mill Creek where you’ll enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of Mill Creek’s spring growing operation, zero-proof cocktails by Siren Shrubs and a delicious dinner charcuterie spread by Purple Basil – all while immersing yourself in the tranquil ambiance of our dreamy greenhouse space.

The greenhouse tour will include a backstage pass to our propagation house where we start over one million plants per year from seed, tissue culture, or cutting.  We will specifically focus on how we start spring flowers, herbs, veggies, + hanging baskets. You’ll also learn more about Mill Creek’s passion for sustainability + automation, straight from our growers.

As the sun starts to set, you’ll meet Layne and Mindy, the Co-Founders of Siren Shrub Co, a Wisconsin-based, farm-partnered beverage company crafting apple cider vinegar-based cocktail mixers and sparkling ready to drink shrubs.  You’ll be offered two signature zero-proof cocktails, garnished with fresh herbs and lemons from Mill Creek's greenhouses. You'll also have the opportunity to learn first-hand how to craft zero-proof cocktails as Layne and Mindy demonstrate how to recreate these delightful mocktails at home.

Dinner, by Purple Basil, will be served as an abundant charcuterie spread including cheeses, cured + dry salamis, fresh + dried fruits, fresh vegetables, bread + crackers, dips + spreads, olives + nuts.  DELICIOUS.

This is a perfect event to attend with your partner for a unique date night, or with family + friends for a fun night out. Kids are welcome (regular tickets must be purchased for each child in attendance). Included in your ticket is a tour of Mill Creek’s growing operation, 2 zero-proof cocktails by Siren Shrubs, dinner by Purple Basil in our dreamy greenhouse space, a shopping coupon to Mill Creek, and [no doubt] a grand old time with local plant people!  A gluten free dining option is available for $55 per person (select gluten free ticket option when selecting tickets).
