Mentally Prepare for the Colder + Darker Months

A Class with Liz Cravillion, LPC-IT, Everyday Counseling

Date + Time: Sunday, November 1 @ 3:00 PM
Location: Mill Creek Gardens
Cost: $15

All it takes is a shift in the weather. A few cooler nights. The leaves changing. Many people like fall, but for others, it brings a sense of foreboding that winter is coming. Darker months can lead to mood shifts, depression, and seasonal affective disorder.

Join us for a therapeutic time learning how to take care of ourselves in the colder, darker months of the year. Licensed counselor, Liz Cravillion, will provide 20 minutes of education, a time of mindfulness in the greenhouse, and then some hands-on therapeutic skills that we'll do together to help us feel more prepared to face the changing seasons.

As the days get shorter, our bodies notice, and they remember past winters and how hard it can be to get through them. If we are already feeling down, sad, or depressed, the change in seasons only amplifies those feelings.

We'll focus on mental wellness together and practice some tools to use to support our minds + hearts.

Warm herbal tea will be provided, as well as handouts to take home, and a coupon to use if you’d like to bring home some plants or home goods to support your health this fall + winter.
