I’ve got the spring bug, literally. It’s become a daily occurrence in our household. Remi, our 15-month old, while enjoying cheerios in his highchair, will suddenly point at the ceiling and say, “OOOO” as he spots an Asian beetle! With the warm temperatures these past few days, it seems like the bugs are waking up earlier than ever! So, (just like my mom did for me) we’ve got a bug jar, and we catch those bugs, inspect them, talk about them, and wait for the next beetle to emerge out of the nooks and crannies of our old farm house.
Literal bugs aside, I’ve got the spring bug and I’m so excited for warmer weather! Spring comes early for us at the greenhouse, so I feel very fortunate. We start our cuttings early January, we plant hanging baskets late February, and start transplanting annuals + cut flowers early March. It was over 80 degrees in the greenhouse last weekend!
We can see you’ve got the bug, too. Thank YOU to those who have stopped out during our weekend shopping hours! In past winters, we haven’t been open for in-person shopping, so we feel like we’ve all been in for a treat. We are truly enjoying sharing our indoor plants with you and offering a safe + warm shopping experience to get us all through the winter months!
So…yes, spring is coming. Yes, the greenhouse is toasty and you’re welcome to experience the spring heat early by stopping out this weekend (Fri 10-4, Sa+Sun 10-2)! AND YES, we will be ready for you come April + May when you’re anxious to fill your containers, flower beds, and veggie gardens!
It’s all about the anticipation. And, now is the time to dream + plan. As always, follow along with us on facebook or Instagram as we introduce new plant varieties (for indoor + outdoor), share tips and tricks on plant care, and give you sneak peaks of how we grow at Mill Creek!
Be Kind + Grow,
